FTTP vs FTTC

FTTP (Fibre to the Premises/Property) is a pure fibre broadband service. This means fibre optic cables cover the entire distance to your home or premises which should, in most instances, deliver far higher connection speeds. FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) is the most common type of fibre broadband in the UK and uses fibre optic cables to the street cabinet, but slower copper cables to the premises. This latter component can therefore be regarded as a weak point which limits the potential top speed of this type of broadband connection.
